A shooting linked to a dispute over a dice game has left one person dead and three others injured at Tennessee State University, police said Friday.
A pistol was recovered at the scene but no arrests have been made.
The incident took place late Thursday in the courtyard of the university's Floyd-Payne Campus Center in Nashville, Tennessee, when an argument over a dice game escalated into a physical fight, local police said.
The deceased is a 19-year-old male who is not believed to have been a student at the university. He has not been identified.
Police said that two 18-year-old female students -- "innocent passersby" -- were hospitalized, with one in stable condition but expected to make a full recovery. The other has since been discharged.Â
A third female student, also 18, received a "very minor graze" and didn't need medical treatment.
Witnesses are being urged to submit cellphone footage to police to help track down the suspect or suspects. Â
Thursday's incident is the latest in a string of recent shootings on US campuses.Â
On October 1, a gunman opened fire at a community college in Oregon, killing nine people before taking his own life.
